Well How do you know that all the members who are registered with IV is aware of this Webfax? Did you guys notify them in anyway? Do you expect/mandate all the IV members should be checking the website/forums all the time? No Hard feeling.... Just my 2 cents

1) The immigration debate is really hot. Monday is when the action starts. its not something 2 years down the line. Hence, we hope that members keep on updating themselves by visiting the site regularly
2) We cannot send an email everytime we want to send a webfax because initially we were thinking of sending a new fax every 2 days last week. But on advise of QGA, we decided to send only one fax. If we had gone the route of sending a fax every 2 days, would it be appropriate to send an email every two days? We do not want to associate IV's newsletter with some junkmail that comes everyday!

if you read my message carefully, i asked a question. I asked if W2s and/or paystubs would be enough to prove that you have always been in lawful status. And I put a context around it by saying"assuming i do not have all of my I797s and I94s". What I meant was "in the case I do not have all of my prior I797s and I94s"
No need to worry. Keep all the documents - paystubs - visa stamps etc since your last entry. Thats all uscis asks.

Hmm.. maybe i did not make it clear.
What I meant was, if you make 4 copies of your photo and use two of them in one application, then USCIS is not allowing you to use remaining two afterwards claiming that picture should be recent and 'unused'. They are asking of 'different' picture altogether.

Best way to do is to get it from AAA. If you are AAA member then you will 8 photos free and you can add your spouse for very minimum.

Can we find out the status of namecheck from USCIS or from any FBI website during retrogresssion. I applied 485 an year ago. Can i find out if atleast the name check is cleared even though my PD is not current.

Actually sometime when you talk to IO, they tell you all the receipt numbers including I-140. It happened with me once. I was inquiring about my I-485 receipt notices and the IO started telling me all the cases , I have filed so far. I guess, when they pull informaton based in your DOB and name, they are able to see everything. At this time, you can request them the RN of I-140. There are bright chances that you get the I-140 information.

I am going to apply for a position in Oracle but do not know if it files green card or not. I am reluctant to ask this in the interview.(They may prefer somebody who does not need it) . Also I wonder if there is any wait time for them to file the green card after joining. I posted this because I think some of you might be working for Oracle and might be knowing. But if we would be able to pass just recapture of Employment Based visas at this stage, Family based visas recapture can be taken up later on. This is just a thought. IV core group and members can discuss this idea for further action.
I am single but still I would say Family based visias should be given first preference over employmeent. They need it more than us. Think about the seperated family. GC is not stopping u from working right...?? But GC for familys separated is stopping them from living together.

My PD is Dec 2005 (EB2) and I'm on EAD. I dont know when I'll get the GC but hoping that I'll get it in the next year. I already got an RFE so I'm not expecting another one. The question is, if I get laid off now, can I buy a business (say a convenience store or a subway) and run it (while on EAD)? and would it cause any problems now or in the future when applying for citizenship? I know you have to work in same or similar industry, but my industry is hard hit with recession and I don't think I can find a similar job. So how will they enforce this? Or do they even care?

I have PD of Nov 2006, 140-Approved, 485-July 2nd. I have not got any LUD on any of my applications. So, this soft LUD might not be for everybody.

I wish if they publish the regulation soon, out of those 360K labor pending, half of the employees must have left the company.
If the system doesn't change than may be its best to change ourselves to suite the system :D .
